One of the first things you notice about someone is their smile. If you’re bothered by a lackluster smile and you find yourself wishing your teeth were a whiter shade, then teeth whitening is a treatment you may want to consider. Park Dental, in Winter Park, Florida, proudly offers the Zoom teeth whitening system for our patients who want to come in to our office for treatment. We also offer Opalescence take-home kits, for those who wish to do whitening at home. For many, it’s just what they need to enhance their smile, be it for professional reasons or to feel more confident in general. Whatever your reasons, our team will be happy to talk with you about your options and the details involved in teeth whitening to ensure that it is the right decision for you.
What is the in-office teeth whitening process?
The Zoom teeth whitening process at Park Dental is fast and effective. In close to 45 minutes we can lighten the color of your teeth by about 8 shades, on average. First, we will prepare your mouth for the procedure. We’ll then apply the Zoom whitening gel and use the Zoom equipment to allow the gel to do its magic, all while you relax comfortably in our dental chair. The process will be complete in about an hour and you’ll leave the office with brighter, whiter teeth.
What is the take-home teeth whitening process?
The Opalescence take-home kit affords you a professional-level teeth whitening in the convenience of your own home. The whitening gel is safe and effective. You will fill your customized tray with the gel and can wear it at any time – during the day or night – for as little as 15 minutes at a time. The Park Dental team will guide you through the steps and are available to answer your questions.
Is whitening right for everyone?
Teeth whitening with Zoom and Opalescence is an effective and safe procedure. It may not be for everyone, however, and the following are things you and your family should consider:
- The treatment is not recommended for children under 13, pregnant women, or women who are breastfeeding.
- Artificial teeth and other previous dental work, like crowns or veneers, will not be affected by whitening. During your consultation, we’ll note what outcome you may expect and additional options you may have.
- Results from the procedure may vary. Dr. Kaiser will perform a comprehensive oral examination that may include a shade assessment test to help determine if you would benefit from whitening.
How do I keep my smile white and bright after the procedure?
As you know, certain foods can stain teeth. Many of us love coffee, tea, cola, and red wine—but they will undoubtedly darken your smile over time. After your whitening procedure, avoid these drinks, or at the very least, consume them in moderation and brush or rinse your teeth shortly after consumption. Tobacco will also stain your teeth and these products should be avoided, not only because they affect the color of your teeth, but they are also harmful to your overall health. We highly recommend taking measures to quit tobacco use. We take into consideration your busy schedule and try to make teeth whitening at Park Dental as convenient as possible. A whiter smile is possible and easy! Call us today to learn more about it.
